We are extremely proud of George Collins, Year 9, and his brother, who participated in their first karate competition on Saturday 29th January. George achieved 1st place in his group, and his brother achieved 3rd place, which is an excellent achievement.
A huge well done to George and his brother. It is lovely to see our pupils making fantastic achievements outside of school and hope to see many more pupil successes!

Ofsted Parent Survey – to be completed by 11am 25th January 2022
We have been informed that Reddish Vale High School will receive a long awaited Section 5 Ofsted Inspection starting tomorrow (Tuesday 25th January), ending on Wednesday (26th January)
An important part of the Inspection is gathering the view of our Parents and Carers and we would like to invite you to take part in the online Ofsted Parent View Survey – An email has been sent to all parents/carers that contains a letter with a link to the survey.

As we enter a New Year and a new term here at Reddish Vale High School, we continue to recognise and reward pupils for their achievements. On 14th January 2022 we hosted our first Cake with the Headteacher reward of 2022 and were extremely proud of the pupils who were nominated by their teachers for a fantastic start to the term.
As always at the end of every term, the rewards assemblies for all year groups took place between 20th and 22nd December. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the pupils’ hard work and success with a range of awards. These included subject awards, tutor and Head of Year awards, attendance awards and pupils that have gained their Bronze, Silver or Gold badge membership will received their respective badges.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the pupils who achieved an award, and thank them for being such excellent ambassadors of our school.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Vision for Education, who kindly donated a number of food hampers to us.
In addition to this, ex-pupil, Paul Cheetham-Karcz kindly raised and donated an outstanding and greatly appreciated £4,000 to enable us to supply Christmas gifts for a large number of our pupils.

There is a variety of local and national helplines and online support offered to children, young people and parents/carers that you can contact for free, should you need any additional wellbeing support. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Making the transition from primary to secondary school can be challenging for young people. It is a significant period within their lives and if this change is not handled appropriately, it can affect them negatively moving forward. We recognise that for some young people, additional support is needed to ensure lasting change. Our peer mentoring programme Power2 Progress allows student mentors (year 8s) to develop core skills and obtain a qualification, whilst simultaneously supporting their mentee (year 6 pupils) to make that transition from primary to secondary school.
On 14th December, we invited Power2 into school to deliver a workshop with a number of our year 7 and year 9 pupils.
