Careers Fair 2021
On Thursday 23rd September 2021, the year 10 and 11 students took part in the annual Further Education fair where they got to develop their knowledge and understanding of the vast array of opportunities open to them from local colleges and Apprenticeship providers to Football courses and RAF.
Thank you to all FE Providers that attended to help our students reach their potential. All careers info for student and parents is available through the school website and the Xello platform.
' It was really useful to find out which colleges do the course I want.'
'I had no idea all the different courses I can do, an Apprenticeship in mechanics is the one for me!'
' It was so good to have all the colleges in one place! I know exactly which one is right for me and with the Our Pass it's easy to get there!'
You can view photographs from the event on our Events Gallery page.
Please see below for the Summer Newsletter, which includes uniform and equipment expectations for September, news and events updates and a message from our Headteacher, Mrs Hanson.
We have received the very sad news that Jenny Campbell, former Headteacher at Reddish Vale, has passed away, after losing her battle to cancer.
For those of you who knew her, take a moment to remember how much she committed and contributed to the development of the school.
We apologies for any inconvenience caused by the recent self-isolation requests relating to Covid. As a school we have to follow guidance, which currently requires any named close contacts of a positive test case to self- isolate. In the case of a lateral flow positive result we will only request isolation until a PCR result is presented, if this is positive the isolation period continues up to 10 days, if negative pupils will be asked to return to school. All positive cases need to be reported to school immediately. Lateral flow tests should be regularly administered for all consenting pupils, regardless of whether pupils have symptoms or not. A positive lateral flow must be followed up with a PCR.
A big thank you to Carl Austin-Behan for delivering assemblies on Wednesday 23rd June to our year 9 students based on LGBTQ+ & respect as part of our whole school Respect Campaign.
Please see the link below for Mrs Hanson's response to the Ofsted review of sexual abuse in schools report, published earlier this week.
We are really grateful to have worked with local social enterprise, PIE, who kindly donated food and activity parcels for us to distribute to some of our families.
Thank you PIE for your generosity!
on 30th April 2021, we were extremely pleased to surprise one of our year 10 pupils, Keiron Rowley, with a visit from Steve Bellis, (Stockport County President), who presented Keiron with the County Hero Award, and a Stockport County arm band signed by Liam Hogan (Stockport County Captain)
Kieron has been working extremely hard over the past few months to care for a family member every moment he can, as well as maintaining 100% attendance in school and online, and progressing really well in all of his subjects.
Well done Kieron!
