Dear Parent/Carer
Your child will be sitting their end of year exams in the coming weeks at Reddish Vale High School. Ahead of our exams, I would like to take this opportunity to write to you to outline our plans for how this will be carried out. Pupils will complete assessments in lesson, or if they’re in Year 10, in the exam hall, based on content they’ve been learning this year and beyond.
Assessments will take place during the following weeks:
Year 7 - week commencing 4 July
Year 8 - week commencing 13 June
Year 9 - week commencing 6 June
Year 10 Mock Week - from 15 June to 24 June
Assessments are a vital way in which we can understand where your child is, how well they’re retaining information and what we then need to help them further develop.
Revision topics and tips have been pieced together for each year group and are downloadable via our school website. Subject departments will also share revision material with your child directly in class and on Google Classroom.
We will use the information from the assessment in the next report home, so that you are aware of where your child is in relation to their target. More crucially, we will use this information formatively to modify our planned schemes of learning, so that we are taking gaps in knowledge into account with planning for next term.
We have provided a list of the topics that your child will be assessed on. Please can you encourage your child to use Google Classroom/revision notes from teachers as a starting point, from which they will be able to access material to support their learning and revision.
We thank you in advance for your support and wish your child success in their upcoming assessments.
Regards
