Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that you and your family are safe and well and that you were able to enjoy some of the sunshine last week.
We are very pleased with the excellent attitude to learning so many of our students are displaying and we hope that the remote learning programme continues to offer a high quality educational support during the schools closure. The feedback we have received has been very positive. As always please contact the relevant Head of Year should you have any concerns.
We have been planning to gradually welcome back some of our Year 10 pupils into school the week beginning 15th June pending announcements over half-term from the Prime Minister. New guidance has been issued to continue with remote learning and further restrict the proportion of year 10 pupils that can attend face to face sessions in school on any one day.
Towards the end of the last half term, we asked Year 10 parents and carers to complete a brief consultation survey indicating their intentions to take up the offer of face to face support alongside remote learning in the weeks leading to the summer break. We are most grateful to the large number of parents who completed the survey. The survey results indicated a fairly even split based on the most current information provided therefore we can move forward with plans to safely accommodate approximately a quarter of the year group for in school support on specific days should you choose to send your child in.
Once a risk assessment has been completed and staff have been consulted and briefed regarding developments I will write to all parents/carers of our Year 10 students later this week with details of our plan to move forward.
Thank you for your continued support of the school throughout this difficult time.
Mrs Hanson
Headteacher
